Privacy Policy
Last updated: 26 July 2026
This policy explains what personal data The Witty Badger collects, how we use it, and your rights. It covers two things: our digital-file shop at thewittybadger.co.uk, and our mobile apps (such as Games on the Go and Life on the Go). Where the two differ, we say so.
Who we are
The Witty Badger is operated by Frazer Barnett, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. We are the “data controller” for the personal data described here. If you have any questions or want to exercise your rights, email us at hello@thewittybadger.co.uk.
The short version
- Shop: we collect your name and email so we can process your order and deliver your files. Card payments are handled securely by Stripe — we never see or store your card details. We never sell your data.
- Apps: our apps are built privacy-first. Games on the Go collects no personal data at all. Life on the Go keeps the information you enter on your own device.
When you shop for digital files
What we collect and why
- Your name and email address — to create your order, send your download links and receipts, and let you sign in to re-download your purchases.
- Order and download history — the products you’ve bought and the download links issued, so we can deliver your files and provide support.
- Payment information — handled entirely by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe and are never stored on our systems. We only receive confirmation that a payment succeeded.
- Marketing preferences — if you choose to join our mailing list, we store your email and consent so we can send you occasional updates. You can unsubscribe at any time.
Our legal bases (UK GDPR)
- Performance of a contract — to take payment and deliver the files you bought.
- Legitimate interests — to run and secure our shop and provide customer support.
- Consent — for marketing emails, where you’ve opted in.
Who processes your data
We use a small number of trusted providers to run the shop. They only process your data on our instructions:
- Stripe — payment processing
- Supabase — database and secure file storage
- Resend — sending order and download emails
- Vercel — website hosting
When you use our apps
Games on the Go
- There is no account and no sign-up, and the app collects no personal data.
- “Nearby” two-player games connect your device directly to another device over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. That connection is device-to-device — nothing passes through our servers, and we never see it.
- Any purchase (the one-time unlock) is handled by Apple through the App Store. We don’t receive your payment details.
- We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs, and we do not track you.
Life on the Go
- Life on the Go is designed to keep your information on your own device (and, if you enable it, synced privately through your personal Apple iCloud account).
- We do not have access to your lists, family details, or other content you enter.
- We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs, and we do not track you.
Cookies
Our website uses only essential cookies — for example, to keep you signed in to your account. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct or delete it;
- restrict or object to how we use it;
- receive a copy in a portable format; and
- withdraw consent (e.g. to marketing) at any time.
To exercise any of these, email hello@thewittybadger.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
How long we keep your data
We keep shop order records for as long as needed to provide your downloads and meet our legal and accounting obligations, then delete or anonymise them. Mailing-list data is kept until you unsubscribe.
International transfers
Some of our providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, appropriate safeguards (such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or equivalent) are in place to protect it.
Children
Our shop is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Our apps are family-friendly and, as described above, collect no personal data from anyone.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “last updated” date above. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
